GAME OF THE MONTH

Following official confirmation of the Wii Remote Plus late last month, Nintendo has now revealed the new controller will hit retail in Japan on November 11 (via Andriasang).
The new controller, if you’re still unaware, will have the Wii MotionPlus technology built in, eliminating the need for the add-on. It’ll be priced at 3,800 yen, the same current price of a Wii remote on it’s own in Japan. 3,800 yen works out to about $46, so even conservatively speculating that the price gets rounded up to $50 when the controller hits stores in the U.S. (and doesn’t, as in Japan, stay at the current price of a Wii Remote in the U.S.), that would still makes it a cheaper option than purchasing a Wii Remote andFollowing official confirmation of the Wii Remote Plus late last month, Nintendo has now revealed the new controller will hit retail in Japan on November 11 (via Andriasang).

In addition to being sold separately in Japan on November 11 (in white, black, blue, and pink), Nintendo will also begin packing it in with every Wii console sold, replacing the original Wii remote entirely. On top of that, new copies of Wii Sports Resort will also begin being sold with the Wii Remote Plus packed in, rather than the Wii MotionPlus add-on.
There’s still no official price and date for the Wii Remote Plus in North America, though, but it’s worth noting the controller first came to light in a product listing for FlingSmash as a pack-in, and that game is scheduled for release in November as well. So in other words, it looks likely that we’ll be able to find the Wii Remote Plus on North American store shelves by November, as well. Still, when officially confirmation comes, we’ll pass it along.
